Slow Cooked Beef Ragu Recipe
By Australian Beef
- Cut Beef into four or five large pieces. Season with salt and pepper, and drizzle with a little olive oil. Heat a large frypan over a medium-high heat. Brown the pieces of Beef well on all sides. Remove and place in slow cooker bowl.
- Reduce heat, add a little oil to the frypan and onion and garlic. Cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the flour and stir to scrape up residue from the base of the pan and ensure the onion is coated with the flour. Gradually pour in the stock and stir until the mixture boils. Pour over the Beef in slow cooker dish. Add the tomatoes and thyme and a small pinch of sugar.
- Cover the slow cooker with its lid, cook on low setting for 6-8 hours and then 1 hour on high setting (if you have time). Alternatively, cook on the high setting for 4-5 hours. To serve, shred the Beef with two forks. Stir in the roasted capsicum and basil leaves. Serve over pasta and sprinkle with parmesan.

Our gorgeous member Sandra is beaming with excitement 🤗.
Why you ask? Today Sandra gifted herself the most amazing birthday present…Her InBody Scan results were off the charts!! All her hard work and dedication has certainly paid off. Sandra has reached a score of 91/100!! We are so proud of you Sandra and love having you as part of our Fernie St Agnes family. Sandra consistently trains at both Fernwood and MBW and is a huge inspiration to so many members and staff ❤ she has been training for about 5 years and goes to the centre about 4 – 5 times a week. Thankyou to all the people that came to the centre for our 50th Birthday!!
The centre has been through a few upgrades over the years with the biggest one being April 2016 which saw the opening of Aldi, a refurb on the inside with new LED lighting, furniture, new facades and signage on the front of the centre and new footpaths, carpark upgrade including shade sails on the rooftop. Our vision was to create a modern centre that provided our customers an easy and enjoyable shopping
experience. A new lift was also installed to the lower level making access so much easier.
Since then we have added some outside tables and seats and installed 2 LED digital stands in the mall.
The 50th Birthday was a great day for the kids and the Mums and Dads, the animal farm was a big hit!! The Amazing Drumming Monkeys as usual were really amazing!
The kids lined up to have their faces painted or to get a glitter tattoo and joined in with the craft fun, making birthday celebration bags. We also had a large Birthday cake which we shared with all our customers and a few lucky shoppers were surprised with some nice giveaways.
From all of us at St Agnes Shopping Centre, thank you for your continued support!
